Who Gives the CMA Exam |
The CMA Exam is set by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA). The IMA is one of the leading professional organization for accountants in the United States and around the world. There are more than 70,000 members worldwide.

CMA Exam Topics
|
| Beginning May 1, 2010, the CMA exam will consist of a two-part format focusing on the critical skills of financial planning, analysis, control and decision support. Testing for the current four-part CMA exam format will continue through December 31, 2010. The new CMA exam consists of two parts as follows: |

- Part 1 :Financial Planning, Performance and Control
- Part 2 :Financial Decision Making
|
Exams can be taken in any order. For those candidates who are enrolled in the old system, they can plan to finish the requirements before the end of December 2010 following the old format. Otherwise, the IMA has decided on the following transition schedule:

CMA Exam Format and Passing Score |
The CMA program consists of four examinations:

CMA Eligibility Requirements |
There are 3 ways in which a person may demonstrate their eligibility for the CMA Exams:
|
- Have a four-year university degree, in any field. Most degrees obtained outside of the United States need to be evaluated by an independent agency to determine if it is the equivalent of four- year US degree. Please contact us to find out if your degree needs to be evaluated.
- Take the GMAT exam and receive a score in the 50th percentile, or higher.
- Have a similar professional qualification from another country, such as CPA, ACCA, ACA or other national qualifications.

When Can the CMA Exam be Taken
|
Both Parts 1 and 2 will be given during the following three testing window
periods:
January and February
- May and June
- September and October
The first testing window for the new program will be May/June 2010. The exams
will continue to be administered by computer at Prometric testing centers. If a
candidate registers to test during a specific window and fails to take the exam,
the candidate must register again and pay the full registration fee.
Because the CMA Exam is computer based it is available around the year. You will need to contact the local testing center to find out the specific days of the week that the exam is available in Ramallah.

Who Should Take the CMA Exam |
The CMA exams are ideal for individuals who work in the areas of accounting, finance or management. The syllabus of the exam is practically based and almost all of the topics on the exam are relevant to the work that is performed by accountants. Additionally, the broad accounting and costing base in the exam is ideal for managers and others in positions of responsibility.

How to register for the exam |
After receiving the authorization letter from the IMA, log onto www.prometric.com/ICMA to locate a testing center, schedule, confirm, reschedule, or cancel your appointment 24 hours, 7 days a week. You must schedule your examination during the dates provided in your authorization letter, as your authorization will expire at the end of the period. If your authorization expires, one-half of your fees will be forfeited and one-half will be available as a credit good for six months.
